Primrose and Tangerine

The tale of a goblin known as Primrose, in combat with a crab briefly known as Tangerine. Originally drawn for the Crab Section of Coastal Cookery, here less the recipes.

Pinch! The crab has latched a claw onto the goblin's outstretched hand. She has jumped into the air in surprise and pain, sending her hat and book flying.

The goblin has landed on her feet, and is furiously shaking the hand the crab has latched onto, with a snarl and her ears back. Her hat drifts to the ground in the background, and the book lies open and face down where it dropped.

The crab flies to the air to the left, away from the goblin. She is still angry looking, with a clearly red and injured finger. The sun hat is settling to the ground next to the abandoned book.

The crab has landed, upside-down. The goblin cradles her injured finger with a sad expression and ears folded back in pain.

the crab has flipped the right way up. The goblin has worked through the pain and gone into anger; she is frowning and keeping an eye on the crab.


-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-


the crab has sensed the danger and is running at some speed towards the left of the page, leaving footprints behind. The goblin, favoring her injured finger and reaching out with her unhurt hand, is midair in a sprint, leaving behind her forgotten hat and book.

the goblin has done a full-scale belly flop, squashing the crab flat.

still angry and once again favoring her injured hand, the goblin holds up the slightly squashed crab by one leg.

the crab dangles even higher, over the goblin's open mouth and outstretched tongue, moments from being eaten.

the goblin stands with fat cheeks and ears perked in delight; the crab is delicious.

well fed and happy, she walks calmly back towards the discarded hat and book.

the book has been retrieved, and the goblin carefully re-sets her straw sun hat.
