Several tasty little crunchy snack mixes to liven up a party snack tray. All of these are quick-mix, with no hot step at all; just dumping everything in a bowl and shaking. Also, no quantities are listed. Just grab a package of roughly the same amount of each; or whatever is available, and keep the leftovers after making an appealing mix as snacks. Do check out the INSERT CHEX MIX recipe for a fancy chex mix, with a few more steps.
Sometimes affectionately referred to as "M+Ms with obstacles", this is the same stuff that can be bought in trail mix bags at the grocery store, except with personal control over quantities and quality.
for when you just need that campfire classic, but also setting things on fire is disallowed or inconvenient.
Just calling it that means that no one is ever going to try it.... but it's good. I promise. All the fruit and none of the cake. If you're feeling fancy and not trying to eat this mix with hands, dump a bit of molasses on top. If you're feeling really fancy and are of an appropriate age, soak the fruit in rum for a bit first.
all the delights of a well-stocked Halloween goodie bag! Back when I worked in the bakery, I would make buckets of this stuff and dump it on anything (with frosting) that stood still long enough. Big hit with the kids, very colorful.
