Sugared Pecans
Great for a holiday snack platter, works well in a treat mix, or a delight to simply snack on.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs pecan halves (about 4 cups)
- one egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Process
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
- Beat the egg white and water into a froth
- In a large ziplock bag, combine the sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
- Combine the pecans and the egg froth (in the same bowl works fine, or in another plastic bag) until the pecans are coated
- put the coated pecans (but not any extra egg froth) into the bag of sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Shake well until the pecans are fully coated.
- Place on well-greased baking sheet. Bake 40 minutes or until the egg white is dry, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool on waxed paper.
