Snack Packs

Somewhere between a bento box and a Lunchable, it's an important part of goblin culture to have snacks available as much as possible; even for meals, sometimes. This page can be considered a strong and steady guide to the balance and assembly of the finest of snack packs, though of course an Ultimate Guide to snacks is a fictional item, unable to keep up with the ever-changing delight of the selection of snackish wonders of the world.

Step One: Presentation

The classic or human presentation of a snack pack is most often seen as the snack platter, or charcuterie board. This is in itself an art form of color and arrangement, as well as taste, texture, and nutritional balance. Which is, of course, all well and good, but not strictly necessary beyond aesthetics. That being said, feel free to adapt these recipes to snack platters, but know that the arrangements below are much more suited to personal use, and function over form.

For a personal use snack pack for use on the go, it is important to keep all items contained and fresh, even when made well ahead of time. Terms will be used to describe packaging types in the arrangements that it is important to know and use, and so are listed here. Different parts of a snack pack may require different packaging and care. Also, be aware of how your snack pack is going to be used, and how and where it is going to travel - different levels of care are needed for things that are kept still and upright, or things that are stuffed in a bag and taken on adventures. Also provided are suggestions to do with packaging that can be washed and re-used, or packaging that can be disposed of to clear space and time for later.

Airtight

For things that will get stale or soggy if allowed loose.

Watertight

For things that are a bit juicy, and may leak or get other things soggy or odd-tasting.
