White Wine Sangria Spritzers
Myna Dyson- 1 bottle dry white wine (your favorite)
- 1/2 cup curacao
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 lemon, sliced thin
- 1 orange, sliced thin
- 1 lime, sliced thin
- 1 pint strawberries, topped and sliced, for serving
- Club soda for serving (1 bottle)
Mix wine, curacao, sugar, lemon, orange, and lime in a large vessel at least 4 hours before serving; stir well to dissolve sugar. Add strawberries just before serving. Serve in wine glasses with ice, topped with club soda.
Spiced Hot Tea
Cindy Wercholuk- 6 cups water
- 6 regular size tea bags
Steep for as long as needed, set aside..
- 1 quart water
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 15 whole cloves
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 packet cherry jello
- 1 can frozen orange juice, prepared
- 46 oz pineapple juice
- 8 oz lemon juice
Simmer together 1 quart of water, cinnamon, and cloves. Add tea and all other remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and serve. May be kept warm in a crock pot, or stores indefinitely in the fridge.
Hot Holiday Punch
Grace Cleary- 1 1/2 quart cranberry juice
- 2 quarts apple juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 tsp whole cloves
Dissolve sugar and salt in apple and cranberry juice. Tie cinnamon and cloves into a cheesecloth, add to mixture, and simmer for 1 hour. Remove spice bag, and serve warm.
Cran-Dandy Cooler
Debby Guertin- 2 cups cranberry-apple juice
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup grenadine or juice from candied cherry jar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 12 oz can ginger ale, chilled
Combine all ingredients except ginger ale, and chill. Add ginger ale and stir just before serving.
Cranberry Punch
Linda Bergen- 1 gallon water
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 regular tea bags
- 3 tsp whole cloves
- 3 sticks cinnamon
- 1 packet cherry jello
- 1 quart cranberry juice
- 1 quart apple juice
- 1 can frozen orange juice
Boil together water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, and add tea bags. Cover, and leave for 6 - 10 minutes. Remove tea bags, and add a cheesecloth tied around cloves and cinnamon for 30 minutes. Remove spice bag, and add jello, lemon juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, and orange juice. Heat and serve.
Creamy Eggnog
Mary Dionne- 8 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 pint whiskey
- 3 quarts milk
- 1 pint whipping cream
- 1 medium tub Cool Whip
- Nutmeg
Separate eggs. Put egg whites in a large bowl and set aside. In a different large bowl, beat yolks and slowly stir in 3 cups of sugar. Slowly add whiskey into the yolk mixture, then milk and cream, continuing to stir for about two minutes after. Whip the egg whites until stiff; add 1/2 cup of sugar and stir. Put together the two mixtures and stir. Fold in Cool Whip until at the desired creaminess. Chill until ready to serve, present with a pinch of nutmeg on top.
