Warm Blueberry Sauce

Sweet, tangy, warm, and perfect for pancakes. This recipe also works by replacing the blueberries with blackberries, raspberries, or peaches. It's kind of related to a very quickly made jam.

Process

  1. Combine sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and cornstarch in a 1 quart glass jar without a lid, or a microwave bowl with a lid.

  2. gradually add water (if using fresh blueberries) and lemon juice, whisking until blended.

  3. Stir in blueberries

  4. If using a jar, cover with parchment paper (NOT THE METAL LID).

  5. Microwave 2 minutes at a time, stirring each time, for 5-6 minutes until thick and bubbly

  6. Serve over pancakes, biscuits, toast, or just eat with a spoon.
