An Even Better Peanut Butter
For most spreadable applications of peanut butter, including eating it with a spoon, try mixing in some honey and mini M-and-Ms. Makes it a little sweeter, and adds crunch.
Peanut Butter Fudge
From the fudge page :)
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 2-3 cups of powdered sugar
- stick of butter (8 tablespoons)
- put peanut butter and butter in a microwave safe bowl
- Microwave for one minute and stir, then one more minute until melted.
- Sift in powdered sugar, stirring, until the entire concoction is paste, but not changing color. Lumps mean too much sugar; add a little extra butter or just stir really hard.
- Optionally, add mix-ins. Chocolate chips (or a batch of chocolate fudge on top) makes a delightful peanut butter cup... or leave tradition behind and add graham cracker crumbs and jam for a PB&J flavor
- Spoon into greased 8x8 pan and spread flat (or one 10 inch round pan) (or double the recipe for a 9x13 pan) and chill for at least two hours or overnight (easier to handle if frozen, fridge will do, countertop takes a while but is possible)
- Cut into squares and arrange artistically for best effect
S'mores Improvements
Spread it on a graham cracker to enhance your s'more... or make cold smores by sticking chocolate chips and mini marshmallows onto a graham cracker with a layer of peanut butter.
Fortified Pop Tarts
Smashing peanut butter between two chocolate pop tarts creates a sweet, sticky, protein-packed peanut-butter-cup flavored sandwich of sorts. Great for breakfast or midafternoon snack.
Instant Pad Thai
With instant or microwave noodles, create a new flavor sensation with a tablespoon of melted peanut butter, a drizzle of soy sauce, and some green onions.
Stuffed French Toast
Instead of plain regular french toast, try an egg dip and a pan fry on a peanut butter sandwich! Add jelly, or try the honey mix, or do whatever.
